RLP – Family Stories: Vieng (Xepon: Cohort 1 – Part 4)

I am healthy but my husband is still getting sick. We recently bought traditional medicine to cure him that cost us around 100,000 Kip a month but his condition does not seem to have improved. My husband’s sister’s paralysed and I am responsible for both of them. I make my income from selling NTFPs that were collected from the forest including bamboo shoots, mushrooms and natural vegetables. I could sell them along the main road in Ban Kalouknok which is around 3 Kilometres from my home. I could earn around 15,000-20,000 Kip a time. I recently withdrew 500,000 Kip from my account to buy traditional medicine to provide treatment for my husband and bought two sacks of milled rice. My husband is not able to do hard labour but he helps me to look after my goats.
