RLP – Family Stories: Saidan (Xepon: Cohort 2 – Part 1)

My name is Saidan. I am 32 years old , married and I have two children. I was married before, but my wife died after my first daughter was born. I had my second daughter with my new wife, and we have been married for 5 years. My mother also lives with us, so there are five people in my house. My family is local to this area, however it is an area with unexploded bombs (UXOs).
When I was 26 years old, I was clearing the land. I thought I hit metal, but it was a UXO. My hand was seriously injured, and the local people took to the doctors. They had to amputate mid-way down my forearm, and I have many scars from the explosion. I don’t feel any pain in my arm, and I have learnt to use it so I can still work and support my family.
