“Over the past 3 months, my health has been getting much worse. I have very bad gout in my arms and legs, which causes them to swell, and this has been my biggest struggle lately. I can still carry water and do a little bit of housework, and my cousin has given me some medicines which help a little bit. A lot of people in this village suffer from the same problem, and there is a Vietnamese man who visits to sell various medicines. These medicines don’t have markings and I don’t know where they came from; they could be dangerous but I feel that I have no choice. I can’t afford to go to the hospital, and for some reason when the village chief prepared a list of the most needy to receive bronze cards
